Summer Fun!

Wow! it has been so long since I have blogged, I may not know how it works. Anyways, I have either been super busy with life or just too lazy to blog. Probably too lazy! Anyways, we had such a fun summer and I'm sad it's over. We went swimming a lot, we did a lot of fishing, but no luck with catching anything. We also went up north quite a bit to "getaway" and we went to Seven Peaks and the Zoo one weekend with my cousin and his family. Here is a bunch of pictures to remember the fun we had.

Do you want some Mt. Dew??

We had a blast! The kids had so much fun and I think Jesse
and Elam had just as much fun as the little kids. They
were kids themselves!!

Such handsome boys!!

Of course he had to hitch a ride at the hotel

He didn't like the Carousel much!

He is too stinkin' cute!!

Next blog will be Keegan's 2nd birthday. Let's hope I get it on here before Christmas!

Zucchini Bars!!

I apologize for not having a picture of these yummy treats. We had a family get together and they were gone before I remembered to take a picture. I hope you enjoy!

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Grated Zucchini
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 1/3 cup Flour
  • 1/4 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp. Salt
Frosting:
  • 4 oz. Cream Cheese--whip until fluffy
  • 1 cup margarine or butter
  • 2 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and bake in a half size sheet pan or 1 in. cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 24-28 minutes ( I cooked mine in a convectional oven for 24 minutes and they were not as moist as usual.) It depends on what kind of oven you use. As for the frosting, mix all frosting ingredients together and lather it on the bars after they have cooled.

They may be a little fattening, okay so more than a little, but they are so dang good. They are easy to make too. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Our 1st fishin' trip of the summer!

Last weekend we went up on Ferron Mountain and went fishing and had a little bbq with our good friends, Kacie and Alex. We had such a fun time. Jesse and Alex have been best friends for the longest time and it's so nice that Kacie and I get along so well too. We always have a good time when we are all together.
The night before we went and bought some fishing poles for Keegan and I.  Keegan was in heaven with his cool Spiderman fishing pole. It was so cute, while we were fishing he would stand on this rock and just throw his fishing pole back and forth in the water. It entertained him for quite away. He loved it. It was crazy because he had watched his dad throw his pole in a couple of times and then he just started throwing his pole in. He picked up on it so quickly. He is going to be such a good fisherman just like his daddy! After we did a little fishing we had a bbq and a fire and just hung out. While we were waiting for our food to cook Alex brought out two of his guns. I was a little nervous cause I didn't want Keegan to freak out while the men were shooting targets but Alex brought earplugs for him, so we were good to go. After awhile Kacie started shooting the targets and then they all told me I needed to try it out. I told them I would be good to just sit and watch but before I knew it,  I was holding a gun. I was so nervous cause I had never held a gun let alone shoot a gun. So Alex told me how I needed to hold it and look through the site and all that jazz. I aimed at my target, a full Pepsi can, and BOOM! I hit the can on my first try. I was quite proud of myself. I shot a couple of more times and then I was done. It gives you quite the adrenaline rush!! It was pretty fun. Anyways, we ate dinner, went back and did some more fishing then headed home. Unfortunately, we didn't catch any fish but we still had a blast!! Thanks Kacie and Alex for a fun time. I can't wait for more fishing trips!!

                                                 Like father, like son!!

I just love this little guy

Trying to fit in with the big kids!!!

My father-in-law is a principal at an elementary school, so we take full advantage of his gym when we have family gatherings or when we just need to wear Keegan out a little. Well, over Easter weekend all of the grandkids went down to the school with their favorite uncle, Jesse, and played a little basketball. Keegan figured he was just as big as the other kids and decided he needed to run with them too. It was so cute because he was in the mix with all of the older kids and was trying to keep up with them and did pretty well but in the end he was just a little slow. But he still had so much fun!!
He has quite the personality lately, he is at the stage when he has to copy everything anybody says or does. For example, when adults laugh, he has to fake laugh right along with us, or if someone is resting their hands on their chin then he has to copy them and do the same, also if he sees somebody folding their arms whether it be to say the prayer or just fold their arms, he has to also fold his arms. The list could go on and on. He is always coming up with new things that amaze me every single day, he cracks me up! I just love the kid.

Playing basketball with the big kids!!

Here is a video of Keegan playing basketball! I couldn't get one with him running with the big kids because as soon as he saw the camera he had to stop and come check it out!! So this video will have to do. He had such a fun time with all of his cousins!!

First of Many...

Keegan and Sophie

As you all know, I am the worst blogger and I hope I can start blogging more! Hopefully. My title says it all, I have a lot to blog about but I just don't have the time so this one is the first of many! I hope that when finals are over I will blog more! Yay, one year down!!! Anyways, the video above cracks me up. Keegan got this Cars fourwheeler for christmas and he rides it everywhere. Well, one night he had to give his partner in crime, Sophie, a ride and they both loved it. Keegan and Sophie are just two months apart and I love that he has a cousin so close in age. They play so well together, I just love it! I hope you all enjoy. Sorry it is sideways.

FINALLY!!

WOW!! I have finally found some time to blog. I have officially become the worst blogger out there! We have been a little busy the last couple of months and I just haven't felt like blogging so I didn't. Anyways, I am sure this whole blog will be about the little guy above, Keegan. He truly seems to amaze me every single day. He is learning so much and he picks up on things so quickly. Jesse or I will say something to him and he repeats the word right back to us, it is crazy. He is now 18 months old, the fun stage, and he is so funny. He is a handful sometimes but for the most part he is really good. He definitely knows when people are paying attention to him because he puts on a show for everybody and he knows he is the center of attention.

Keegan wearing Grandma Carrie's glasses!

Keegan is such a talkative little bugger and he jabbers from the minute he wakes up until the minute he goes to sleep. Here are a couple of the words he says:

Mommy Phone Shoes Poppy (dog)
Daddy Ball Teets(treats) Chicken
Grama Doggie Ba-Ba Noo-N00 (Noodles)
Granpa Tree Turtle No! No! No!

Whas that? (what's that)
Where mote? (where's the remote)
Where the ball?
Where they go? (whenever someone leaves)

Jesse taught him how to say why? which he thinks is hillarious, but I don't think it is to to funny. Also when you yell his name he yells back What!! He is too too cute. And he says a lot more words I just can't think of them right now. I need to write them down.

As for Jesse and I, we are pretty boring. Jesse is just going to work and I am still going to school which keeps me pretty busy. A couple of months ago Jesse and I were able to leave Keegan home with my mom for the weekend and we went up north with some friends and stayed in a hotel and went to a Hockey game. So much fun. It was nice to have us time away from the little one. We need to do it more often. Yeah, I know, we are BORING!! But that is okay cause I like to just hang out at home with the two men in my live who I love very much.

Sorry it's so long and boring!

November

November has been a crazy, but fun month for our family. I know I am really behind but I wanted to post this as a journal for myself. At the first of the month we took a trip to San Francisco with Jesse's sister and her husband for our 2nd Anniversary. We had so much fun, we went to Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf, and did lots and lots of shopping. It was so nice to get away and just relax. It is so crazy to think that Jesse and I have been married for two years now. I just want to let him know what a wonderful husband and father he is and I don't know where I would be without him. I LOVE YOU HONEY!! Jesse also had the opportunity of blessing my sister's little boys Ryker and Bridger. He did such an amazing job and I am soo proud of him and thankful for him that he was able to do it. Keegan is definitely keeping me on my toes. He is growing up so fast and it is so wonderful to watch him learn new things everyday. His new thing he does is he loves loves Oreo cookies so when he gets one, he pulls the cookies apart and just eats the frosting and then he is done with the cookie. It kills me. As for myself, I have been super busy with school and keeping up with Keegan. We had a good Thanksgiving and it was nice to have a little break. Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to....
